five windows

for piano and soprano (and more, if you like!)

«five windows» are five short pieces of music. each piece is complete.
but each piece is also a window. It can be used as a foreword, as an opener for
improvisation, as a step into a bigger world. It sets the tone, the energy, gives the direction.
You can look out the window much longer, if you want.
Explore details, see the changes as you keep looking.
When used as a starting point for improvisation, the soprano can be replaced by any instrument.
Feel free to make with it what you want. As long as it is appropriate.

seeing an old friend—
waving hello becomes
waving goodbye

o snow!
even in my darkest hours
you are white

finding no words
I hum...

in autumn
all the poetry becomes so
obvious

every friday he brought her
flowers
now he brings her memories
